ABOUT THIS EVENT:
Edmonton Minor Hockey Association, together with Tim Hortons is pleased to host a year-end celebration of Initiation Hockey for 48 teams on March 27th & 28th, 2010. The Initiation Program philosophy will be thematic throughout the weekend and the emphasis will be on having fun; the joy of hockey. ALL TEAMS MUST WEAR THEIR TIMBITS JERSEYS FOR THIS EVENT.
THIS EVENT IS FULL FOR THIS SEASON
FORMAT:
Each team will play 3 games against three different teams. Some teams will have to play two games on Saturday. We hope to have every team play their third and final game on Sunday. Each game will be 45 minutes long, played on half ice. There will be no referees and every player is expected to play a regular shift. There will be no score kept and no goalie equipment are permitted. An instructor from each team will be on the ice during the game. Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-entered basis. There has been a lot of interest in this event, so we expect to be filled quickly. Get your registration in ASAP.
Full equipment is required. There are no designated goalies. The first game will be played at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The last game should be at 6:00 p.m on Saturday and Sunday. At the end of the third game, every player will be given a “gold” medal. There will be an Arena Manager in attendance should any conflicts arise. Any conflict will be reviewed by the Arena Manager, whose decision is final.
ENTRY FEE & REGISTRATION:
Fee: Entry fee per team is $200. There will be no refunds for lack of participation. A refund of $200 will be given on Sunday March 28, 2010. Please indicate who the refund cheques need to be given back to. REGISTRATION IS NOT CONSIDERED COMPLETE UNLESS CHEQUE AND HARD CARD ACCOMPANIES REGISTRATION FORM.
Who is eligible: Entry is limited to Tim Hortons sponsored teams in the initiation program. Players must be registered on the team sheets; copies of the team sheet must be submitted prior to the first game played and will be checked before each game. No overage players are allowed.
Deadline for Entry: Teams from Edmonton will be given until the end of December 2010 to register then teams from out of the Edmonton area will be next and if there is room, teams from out of province will be accepted. No one is guaranteed entry until their registration and fees have been received complete. REGISTRATION FORMS ARE NOT CONSIDERED COMPLETE UNLESS THEY ARE ACCOMPANIED BY DEPOSIT CHEQUE AND HARD CARD. If necessary, we will maintain a waiting list of no more than 20 teams. NOTE: All teams must get a travel permit. REGISTRATION DUE IN BY MARCH 2, 2010.

Payment: Entry fee must accompany the Registration Form and can be made by cheque through the Hockey Edmonton office. You can also fax the registration form to 780-440-6475 and by making a cheque payable to Edmonton Minor Hockey Association and mailing it to Edmonton Minor Hockey Association, 10618 – 124 Street, Edmonton, AB T5N 1S3.
HOTELS & ACCOMMODATIONS:
We recommend that any team traveling in for the event make their own accommodations for this event.
