The Source For Sports Play SMART Jamboree
Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Clareview Arena (3804-139 Ave)
The Play SMART Jamboree is Hockey Alberta's premiere "Learn to Play" program for young hockey players. The purpose of the Play SMART Jamboree is to provide Players with a fun day, and to introduce the players and parents to the various aspects of minor hockey.
Young athletes participating in the Jamboree are focusing on skill development and fun games. Players will participate in on-ice and off-ice activities helping develop the basic fundamentals required to play the game of hockey. The Play SMART Jamboree promotes the fun in sport and encourages Fair Play.
The on ice assistants will be the U of A Bears with group chaperones coming from the Midget programs. The Jamboree attempts to inform parents of the different aspects of hockey, understand the "big picture" and hopefully become better hockey parents. They will gain insight into Officiating, Coaching, Administration and Risk Management aspects of hockey.
Eligibility: Open to all registered players in Edmonton Minor Hockey born in 2001 and 2002 who have not participated in a previous Jamboree. Only one entry per player will be accepted.
Parents: One parent of each player must attend learning sessions in conjunction with your child's activities at the Jamboree.
Cost: $20.00 per participant
